About
Richard
Evans
Richard Evans lives in Bexhill on Sea, a small retirement town on South Coast
of England. His first collection of poetry The Zoo Keeper was published by Egg
Box Publishing, a Norwich-based publisher set up by Alexander
Gordon Smith (author of 'The Inventors'.)
He studied for a degree at the University of East Anglia, where he was a part
of the extended family of Aisle 16. Later
he took an MA in Life Writing and Creative Writing at Goldsmiths College.
Since then, he has been working with several organisations to enhance the teaching
of literacy and creative writing in schools and training colleges.
His work for The
Excellence Cluster in particular has received national recognition for demonstrating
the value of collaborative work in education.
Richard has also been involved in organising poetry events for Don't
Feed the Poets, who over the last few years have brought writers of international
regard, such as Louis de Berniers, Hugo Williams and Linton Kwesi Johnson, to
East Sussex.
